1) Type of Movement
We use 5 styles of quality Quartz movement. 1) Time of Day only 2) Time of Day with DCF Radio Control (*see below) 3) Time of Day with Pendulum and 4) Time of Day with Chimes and 5) Time of Day with Chimes and Pendulum. Please select the type of Quartz movement required. The Pendulum option is for clocks with existing external / visible pendulums. Do not select this option if the existing pendulum is enclosed / hidden within the case.
*DCF radio-controlled quartz clock movements contain a built-in receiver that picks up the longwave time signal broadcast from Germany, which carries precise atomic clock data. The movement automatically decodes this signal and regularly adjusts itself, ensuring the clock always displays the exact time without manual setting – even after power interruptions.
2) “Dummy” Winders / Winding Keys
Please select how many “dummy” winders / winding keys you want. To keep the authenticity of your clock we will fabricate fake winders to fill the holes in the dial left when the movement was removed. We make these winders using a 3D printed backplate and solid brass cubes cut down to size. If your clock has winding keys on the back cover, we will fabricate internal fastenings to secure the original winders to the case back. These winders add to the authenticity of the clock and keep it looking as original as possible (but do NOT turn – aesthetics only). Select NONE if there are no winding holes in the dial. If NONE is selected and there are winders present – the clock will be returned with empty holes as per the final image below.
